FAQ for PocketCM Contacts

What's required to run PocketCM Contacts?
-In order to run PocketCM you need a Windows Mobile 5.0 or Windows Mobile 6.0 Phone device.
Does it run on Windows Mobile 2003?
-No it doesn't. There is currenlty no plan to make a port. Mostly for technical reason.
I can't send SMS, I press the button nothing happens! What can I do?
-Press the "Send" button for at least 250ms.
It's a feature, to avoid mistake when typing on a SIP. I'm sure you prefer to wait 250ms that to send draft by mistake.
I don't see all my contacts?
-PocketCM Contacts, by default, show only Pocket Outlook Contact having a phone number.

If you want to show all your outlook contact, you need to create a settings.ini file containing "hide_contact_without_phone=0" and copy it to your PocketCM directory.

Anyway, SIM contacts aren't supported.

How to translate PocketCM?

-For now, I recommand to use english version. Some partial localization exist, but current version isn't fully localizable.
How do I change colors, image, fonts, etc...?
-PocketCM support theme, you can download many theme here. If you want to change some specific settings, please look here.
Does your application support VGA device?
-For PocketCM, you may need to download a theme, like the Touch2 VGA by Mr. Groch: Touch 2 VGA Thread.
How to add this application as the default contact manager?

Easiest way: download and install the CAB version of PocketCM.

Make sure that you add the "" on the new entry.
How to add this application as a softkey?
NOTE: this won't change your default contact application, for instance using the "contact" button in your phone dialer won't make ContactManager appear. If you want to use ContactManager as contact application see previous question. You can read this. Basically you download a softkey configuration panel that allow you to do that.

How do I set background image for favorite?
For PocketCM, please look here. There is a "favorite_background_image_list" settings in settings.ini.
Can I have index bar on the right?
Short answer: no.

Long answer: The right side is sensible, so you can move your finger on the right part, it will work. If you really want the displayed index on the right, you can create a background image that contains the index.
I changed my setting but it doesn't work!
You need to restart the soft for the new settings to be taken into account.
I think your app use too much memory, what do I do?
Do not use background image, do not add too many picture on your contact. However, PocketCM try to do a good job regarding memory usage while keeping decent speed.
How to uninstall?
If you installed the CAB version, simply uninstall it, like any other WM application.

If you installed the ZIP version, simply remove the file and undo any registry change you made by hands.

If you have problem, typically that typing on contact button shows an error, instead of the old contact application, you can either: reinstall and uninstall latest version of PocketCM. Or edit registry by hand:

How to close PocketCM Contact?
The application is designed to run in background, however, you can still close it, it will just take a little longer to load.

To minimize, you can do one of the following:
-Press the phone button for 250ms, then release
-Tap on the upper right corner (like if there was an invisible close button).
-Press on the cancel hard button
To close PocketCM, you can do one of the following:
-Press the phone button for 250ms, then slide your finger on the left, until the "close" button (a X with the default theme) is highlighted, release your finger.
-Use your favorite task manager to close PocketCM Contact
