There were reasons for this decision: most brand new devices have custom UI that does not support Today plugins, SPB Mobile Shell supports Widgets instead of Today plugins that are much more powerful and customizable, etc. From the other point many users complain the lack of Today plugin as they used to have in in version 2.2.2 With respect to our customers we offer a custom Today-enabled version of SPB Time 3.0.1.
