A simple map viewer library use CartoType. Click on the screen CartoTypeDemo Applications. This displays a map of Denmark shows that shipped with the demo. Besides the menu commands, you can expand by clicking the plus sign, and zoom out by pressing the minus sign. You can scroll by clicking and dragging the map. The command line 'Use Map' from the Options menu tells the program to use vector data CloudMade server instead of local data. Draw any map, in any style, any size, in any projection, with any source, on any platform. Data source: OpenStreetMap, ESRI shapefiles. Plug-in data access for custom formats. Style: XML style sheets gives complete control over appearance. SVG support. Fonts and Text: TrueType fonts, Unicode support, a full typographic control, and custom label formats. Routes: Built-in routing engine. The route can be displayed as a map layer or overlay integrated. Platforms: Android, iPhone, Windows (desktop), Windows Mobile, Symbian. Map functionality: the extension without problems, panning, rotation, perspective view, hit detection, search, and more. APIs: C; wrappers in Java (for Android) n º C (for iPhone). SDK: available now for Windows Mobile and Symbian. Sample code available for other platforms. Apps using CartoType City maps for iPhone and iPod: offline maps of London, New York, San Francisco, etc Walk & Ride United Maps for iPhone and iPod Touch: hyperlocal maps and driving off-line (video) |
