Kaspersky AntiVirus Fixed

Hi All,
Finally the BLACKLIST issue is fixed in Kaspersky Internet Security(KIS) 7. Here is a fix for this issue:
(Note: This method is applicable only on Kaspersky 7.0 products. Kapersky 2009 products do not support updates from ZIP archives)

1.Install KIS 7.0 on your computer. After finishing installation, restart your computer

2.Use any pirated key to activate and exit KIS. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP7\Bases\ and make a backup copy of black.lst (copy the file to a safe place like in a different partition)

3.Now download the Virus Definition Updates from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Download the complete update file "av-i386-cumul.zip" and extract its contents to C:\av-i386-cumul\

4.Now run KIS and goto
> Settings->Update and select Run Mode to Manually
> Click on Configure... button, a new dialog will open
> Uncheck the Kaspersky Lab's update server checkbox
> Click on Add.. button and browse the path where you extracted the contents of "av-i386-cumul.zip" i.e. C":\av-i386-cumul
> Click OK to confirm and again click OK to save settings

5.Now in Kaspersky program window, click Update tab and click on Update Databases

6.Click on details... to see the update progress

7.As soon as the progress reaches 99%-100%, right click on the kaspersky icon in taskbar and click exit. (Do this again and again until Kaspersky exits)

8.Make sure that you have terminated the program. Now goto C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ and rename the folder "Kaspersky Lab" to "Kaspersky Lab1"

9.Replace the black.lst file in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab1\AVP7\Bases\ with the backup copy you made in step 2.

10.Run Kaspersky again and you should see updated databases in the Update tab.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Further you can download weekly ZIP archives (av-i386-weekly.zip) and update the software using same method explained above. Weekly databases release every Sunday.
