Remove shortcut arrow from desktop icons

Here's how you can remove those shortcut arrows from your desktop icons in Windows XP.
1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTlnkfile
3. Delete the IsShortcut registry value.
You may need to restart Windows XP.

u can also try tune up uninstaller 2009,0r the previous 2008.. u can customize it in customize windows-replace icons-appearance- and uncheck the box show shortcut arrow

Yes it works and definitly you have to restart because any application you install you need to restart for better performance so same as this.
