how to get DVD movie to iphone 3g?

Hi, i have recently purchased the new iphone 3g and i would like to copy a couple of dvd films to it ie madagascar 2. I am a complete novice at transferring files and therefore i'm looking for something that is easy to use. I search dvd ripper in google and come up with many software applications, but i cannot figure out which one is the best and easy to handle. Do you have any good recommendation for me?
