Hi
My friend has got Sony Ericsson w995 and I configured it so that I could treat it like any other computer on my home network, browse the phone from any computer, upload and download files, etc.
Is there a way to do the same on my Nokia 5800?

Hi,
Unless, as far as I know, there is not yet special program (Symbian, or Python as well),
you have to install a Web Server (i e Appache, Samba), and you will be able to connect
in http, basic or VPN,your local network.

Hi,
Would like to complement my previous answer !
There is a program under Python : SMB4s60 (free)
I tryed another under Symbian : SymSMB (tou have to pay, or check on the Web! )
It's possible to share diretories or files, and to use them from your computers (R/W),
But I didn't succeed to do that from the phone (5800)...
To be followed !
Edit: Using a N97, everything working as a charm ! as if we were on a PC in the local network !
Cheers, JPC

Thanks;-) I'm going to try if I can get it to work.
so did it work then?
No I can't get it to work, I googled around and wisited some forums that seemed to have a solution but it was just too complicated. I don't need this THAT much;-)
But I will keep on looking from time to time and if I succeed I will post it here.
